Location: The Madrones
The Madrones property has a long history with my family and our neighbors. After many different lives, this complex features tasting rooms, exquisite accomodations and grounds, and across the creek the redwood grove, a popular wedding destination. Additionally, up the hill on that side of the creek are the two cabins, formerly known as the millshacks, in the 70s and prior (there were three then). I lived there during my final high school years, the one nearest the highway. I paid Dr. Marsh $60 per month. Of course it was just a shack then. The Madrones is right across the highway from our driveway, a five minute walk from the cottage.
Once a roadhouse for wagons coming in and out of the valley, the Boonville Hotel has been through many, many changes. Another property with long term history with local families. Now it's a ritzy complex of rooms, events, and bar and restaurant. Unique in it's own way, its menus are shared just prior to the weekend. They have really nice grounds and a beautiful garden, which is incorporated in their menus and events. The Boonville Hotel has opened a new venue in the old Farrel Building in Boonville named Offsprings. It's a gourmet pizza place with a really good looking menu.
You can't miss this local favorite passing through Boonville, formerly known as Lauren's at Buckhorn. A casual atmosphere and good food. Can be busy. Varied menu. Full bar. Hours vary. Check the temporary website to see the alternating schedule featuring Lauren's long appreciated Mexican food, and famous burgers by the new partner. Also be sure to ask about their homemade spirits and bottled cocktails.
Mosswood Bakery
Very close to the Boonville General Store, this is a popular place to go for coffee, pastries and sandwiches, similar to the neighbor next door. Open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No website. Call 707-895-3635
Boonville General Store
Not to be confused with the Anderson Valley Market, this little deli has a wonderful menu for breakfast and lunch. Open every day 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No website. Call 707-895-9477.
This is an ice cream shop that also serves coffee, confections, and other sweet treats. Located on the same stretch as the Boonville General Store and Mosswood Bakery, they look to be a popular venue for families.

Located in the old Philo Cafe, Jumbo's Win Win is a casual place to sit down for a burger, soft serve or milkshake.
Located in downtown Boonville, across the street from the Boonville Hotel and the Redwood Drive-In, Disco Ranch is not a tasting room, not a restaraunt, but is called a Wine Bar. This unique and award winning establishment is stocked with wines and delicacies from all over the world. It is a nice place to sit on the porch with a pour from their varied wine menu combined with the delicious deli snack plates prepared in advance to be available customers.
